The Nautilida constitute a large and diverse order of coiled nautiloid cephalopods that began in the mid Paleozoic and continues to the present with a single family, the Nautilidae. The unique shapes, patterns, and colorful designs of the nautilida have inspired countless artists who draw parallels with the Fibonacci spiral and the yin yang. These are said to symbolize the balance and harmony of nature, and it is also the inspiration behind our nautilida kinetic wood sculpture.
